It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the team at Hair by Phillip announces the passing of our beloved founder, mentor, and dear friend, Phillip. He passed away peacefully on December 2nd, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of his family and loved ones following a courageous battle.

A 50-Year Legacy of Style and Heart

Phillip was the heartbeat of this salon. Over a remarkable 50-year career, he transformed more than just hair; he transformed lives. From the precision of the salon floor to the high-stakes energy of the competition stage, Phillip’s talent was matched only by his kindness.

He wasn't just a stylist—he was an institution. His influence reached every corner of our industry, and his legacy is etched into the countless stylists he mentored and the generations of clients who became his lifelong friends.

"Just Like That"

For the apprentices and stylists lucky enough to learn under him, Phillip’s teaching style was as memorable as his skill. Whenever he saw someone struggling, he would step in to help, expertly demonstrating exactly what needed to be done. Once the technique was perfected, he would channel the legendary Tommy Cooper and say, "Just Like That," to show that if you create the style just like that, you’ll be onto a winner.

Those words and that sense of humour will continue to echo through our salon, serving as a constant reminder of his wit, his wisdom, and his high standards.

Moving Forward

While the salon feels quieter without his presence, we are committed to honouring Phillip’s memory by continuing the work he loved so dearly. We will carry forward his passion for excellence and his dedication to the "Hair by Phillip" family.

He will be deeply missed, but we find comfort in knowing that his inspiration lives on in every cut, every colour, and every smile we create.
